 RIDGE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 24, 1996--Context Software Systems Inc., a leading provider of medical coding and reimbursement products, announced today that it has entered a marketing agreement with Englewood, Colo.-based Micromedex Inc., a leading provider of comprehensive databases for drug information, toxicology toxicology, study of poisons, or toxins, from the standpoint of detection, isolation, identification, and determination of their effects on the human body. Toxicology may be considered the branch of pharmacology devoted to the study of the poisonous effects of drugs.  and emergency/critical care.

Under the agreement, Context will market Micromedex's Red Book(TM) Database Services and the J-Code Aggregate file, as part of Context's suite of data products. The Red Book(TM) Database Service and J-Code Aggregate file will be marketed in Context's Electronic Data and Software Catalog.

The Windows(R)-based Electronic Data and Software Catalog provides information on data and software products designed to help organizations in the areas of coding, clinical editing, fee management and regulatory compliance. The catalog provides specific information on Context's more than 60 data and software products, including product descriptions, record layouts The format of a data record, which includes the name, type and size of each field in the record.  and sample data.

The Red Book(TM) Database Service is a drug information system which delivers information on over 165,000 products. Included are all the FDA-approved active NDC's for prescription and reimbursable over-the-counter products, data on other pharmaceuticals, and information on a variety of health and beauty aids. The Red Book(TM) Database contains the most current pricing and descriptive information available on a drug including nationally recognized Average Wholesale Prices (AWP's), national drug code (NDC NDC National Drug Code
