California California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  Lottery's "The Big Spin(R)" show airs Saturday, August 3, 2002, in twelve television markets statewide. Contestants on this week's show win a total of $292,500.

Fantasy 5 Dream Machine contestants win a total of $180,000 on this week's show. The first Dream Machine contestant appearing on this week's show is Ken Jackson Sir Ken Jackson (born 3rd March 1937) was the General Secretary of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union (AEEU) from 1995 until that union's merger with the Manufacturing Science and Finance (MSF) union to form Amicus in 2001. , a financial counselor from Long Beach. Jackson wins $90,000 and he explained his plans for the money, "I will pay off bills and invest." Jackson bought his lucky ticket at a Circle K in Costa Mesa Costa Mesa (kŏs`tə mā`sə), city (1990 pop. 96,357), Orange co., S Calif., on the Pacific south of Santa Ana; inc. 1953. It is a transportation, residential, and light industrial center. . Next up at the Dream Machine is Beatryce Smock, a retiree from Mira Loma, who wins $65,000. Smock bought her ticket at Country Village Market in Mira Loma. The final Dream Machine contestant on this week's show is Shirley Hill, a retiree from Capitola. Hill wins $25,000 and plans to take a cruise with her winnings. Hill purchased her ticket at Ron's Farmhouse in Mountain View. Dream Machine players have up to five chances to launch one ball at a time into one of the five bins in the pinball-type game, each bin representing a cash amount. Prizes are cumulative, but only one ball may land in each bin to claim the prize amount. Players appearing on this segment qualify by mailing an entry form to the Lottery lottery, scheme for distributing prizes by lot or other method of chance selection to persons who have paid for the opportunity to win. The term is not applicable when lots are drawn without payment by the interested parties to determine some matter, e.g.  when $5 of Fantasy 5 games are purchased on one playslip.

The contestant that wins a chance to spin the prize wheel from the California Gold California Gold were an American soccer team, founded in 1998. The team was a member of the United Soccer Leagues Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, until 2006, when the team left the league and the franchise was terminated.  elimination round is Cynthia O'Bannon, a homemaker from Mariposa, who wins $60,000. "I would like to spend this money to pay off the mortgage on our house," said O'Bannon who purchased her ticket at Pioneer Market in Mariposa. The second runner-up from this California Gold round is Del Perkins, a retiree from Burney, who wins $5,000.

California Gold is another way to get to the wheel on "The Big Spin" show. The game starts with 10 contestants whose Big Spin Scratchers(R) tickets each revealed three "TV SHOW" symbols on one ticket. When instructed, each player pushes down a "detonator detonator (dĕ`tənā'tər), type of explosive that reacts with great rapidity and is used to set off other, more inert explosives. Fulminate of mercury mixed with potassium chlorate is a commonly used detonator. " to reveal a prize ranging from $1,750 to $4,000. Two of those contestants will reveal gold nuggets a lump of gold as found in gold mining or digging; - called also a pepito.

 and advance to the second round of play. Once there, they compete to see who can get the closest to 10 units of "gold nuggets" in their mining car without going over. The winner of this round goes to "The Big Spin" prize wheel, while the other contestant wins $5,000.

The Spin-Spin-Spin contestant on this week's show is Bret Moore, a tile tile, one of the ceramic products used in building, to which group brick and terra-cotta also belong. The term designates the finished baked clay—the material of a wide variety of units used in architecture and engineering, such as wall slabs or blocks, floor  setter setter: see sporting dog.

The California Lottery sells its products through a network of more than 19,000 outlets statewide. The Lottery provides 52 percent of its revenues to players as prizes, 34.7 percent to public schools and 13.3 percent for administrative expenses, which includes 6.8 percent for retailer commissions. Since 1985, the Lottery has raised more than $13 billion for public schools. The Lottery's contribution equals approximately 2 percent of the state's total education budget. "The Big Spin(R)" is the longest running Lottery game show in the country, airing continuously since 1985.
