Contest chance to promote culture.

A COMPETITION promoting the value of Bahraini culture and creativity on a world scale has been announced.

The Best of Bahrain Creative Pioneers Competition is being organised by Middle East Media in partnership with Global Village Partnerships (GVP).

It is also supported by the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Culture and Information Ministry.

All nationalities and ages, who find inspiration in Bahraini culture, are welcome to enter, said organisers.

The theme is Best of Bahrain in photography, painting, computer graphic art, graphic design, creative writing and architecture design.

The top three submissions in each category will be recognised. Entries will be accepted from November 16 to February 16 next year.

Short-listed entries will be showcased online on the GVPedia website from February 23 to March 16.

The winners from each category will be announced, promoted with a full page print of their work in a Best of Bahrain publication to be launched in May next year for local, regional and global distribution.

"The Best of Bahrain Creative Pioneers Competition represents the commitment in promoting Bahraini culture through its community sentiment," said publication project manager Rawia Beyhum.

The competition has attracted an advisory board and jury of prominent Bahraini citizens and residents, he added.

They include renowned Bahraini photographer Deyana Ahmadi, Muharraqi Studios founder Khalid Al Muharraqi, artist Balqees Fakhro, author Ali Al Saeed, graphic designers JWT Bahrain managing director Younes Skaini and Gulf House Engineering principal architect and planner Ahmed Bucheery.
