:BTUX) announced today that William H. Gibbons Famous people named Gibbons include:
  • Beth Gibbons (born 1965), British singer
  • Billy Gibbons, guitarist for ZZ Top
  • Cedric Gibbons (1893–1960), American art director
  • Christopher Gibbons (1615 - 1676), English composer, son of Orlando
 was promoted to vice president by the board of directors following the company's annual meeting held Nov. 20, 2000. Mr. Gibbons joined Contango as treasurer and assistant secretary in February 2000.

Kenneth R. Peak, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "Since Contango has only three employees, we all are responsible for managing multiple tasks. Bill has done an outstanding job since joining the company and will be relied upon even more in 2001."
