Consumers urged to buy organic. (News from spaceship Earth).

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is urging consumers to buy organic food to help promote clean water and support small farms.

Kennedy serves as president of the Waterkeeper Alliance, and has launched the Pure Farms--Pure Water campaign. Kennedy commented that many small family-run farms are turning to organic farming to protect their continued existence. "The American landscape is now being transformed with a few large multinational corporations that are taking over produce production," he said.

Kennedy, an environmental attorney, said pesticides and fertilizers used by the corporations are finding their way into the waterways of the U.S. He hoped the campaign would encourage consumers to spend their money on organic food.
