Consumers Packaging acquires glass-container manufacturing plant in Italy.


TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1996--Consumers Packaging Inc. (Toronto Stock Exchange Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE)

) today announced that it has entered into a long-term lease arrangement for the use of a partly completed glass-container manufacturing plant in Teramo, Italy. Consumers expects to complete the facility and to begin production in September 1997. The entire production of the facility in its first phase has been committed under a long-term supply agreement to a European company and is expected to generate approximately C$40 million in annual revenues.
