Consumers Invited to Recycle Old Electronics This Weekend at Gulf Gate Center Best Buy Store.


* Computers, TVs, other items will be accepted at Gulf Gate Mall store

* $5 Best Buy Gift Card for first 100 recyclers each day

What:       Best Buy will host a two-day electronics recycling event
            at the Gulf Gate Best Buy store, Houston, from 10 a.m. to
            4 p.m. Friday, September 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22. The
            first 100 recyclers each day will receive a $5 Best Buy
            gift card.

            -- Printers                  -- Air conditioners
            -- Fax machines              -- Major household appliances
            -- TVs                       -- Regular alkaline batteries
            -- Stereos
            -- VCRs
            -- DVD players
            -- Camcorders
            -- Phones, including cellular phones
            -- Rechargeable batteries
            -- Ink jet and printer cartridges

            Throughout the year, cell phones, inkjet/toner cartridges
            and rechargeable batteries can be recycled at recycling
            kiosks standing in the front entrance of all Best Buy
            stores across the U.S.

Cost:       Most items will be recycled at no charge.
            $5 fee for computer monitors and televisions up to 27"
            $10 fee for televisions larger than 27" and console TVs.
            There is no charge for Insignia and Dynex brand computer
            monitors made by Best Buy.

Why:        In addition to the recycling collection event, Best Buy
            has several established recycling programs for consumers,
            from free recycling drop-off kiosks at each store entrance
            for DVDs, CDs, PDAs, cell phones, rechargeable batteries
            and inkjet cartridges to a grant program to assist
            community and nonprofit organizations that collect
            e-waste. Consumers can find more information about
            recycling at Best Buy stores online at
            www.BestBuy.com/recycling.
