Consumers Earn Killer Stuff in Capcom's Fighters Edge.


ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1998--Capcom, known worldwide as a leader in the fighting-game genre, today announced the upcoming June launch of Fighters Edge(R), an industry first frequent-buyers program whereby consumers earn and collect points with each purchase of specially marked Fighters Edge PlayStation games List of Playstation games can refer to:

As their collection of points accrue, consumers can redeem them for high quality merchandise that span from a Fighters Edge T-shirt to a mountain bike. Fighters Edge is an ongoing program to support Capcom's exciting '98 line-up of fighting games This section is an ongoing effort to catalogue every fighting title or series featured on Wikipedia. To participate, consumers first register into the program through Capcom. It's free to join. Consumers can register several ways, including mail-in registration cards found in upcoming Capcom print advertising, and at participating retail outlets, as well as online at www.fightersedge.com.

Once registered, participants receive by mail a Fighters Edge Kick-Off Kit. This packet includes a program brochure with the reward structure and complete rules and regulations, a collectable Fighters Edge phone hint card, a Fighters Edge key chain, temporary tattoos, and an offer to receive a free issue of GamePro, the world's largest multiplatform gaming magazine.

As a member of Fighters Edge, gamers begin collecting their points with each purchase of a Fighters Edge game. These points can then be redeemed for exclusive prizes. Capcom has created a multi-tiered award structure which includes T-shirts, caps, sunglasses, skate boards, jackets, a mountain bike and more. In addition, all entered participants of Fighters Edge are automatically signed up for quarterly sweepstakes with huge grand prizes, such as a Capcom arcade game An arcade game is a coin-operated entertainment machine, typically installed in businesses such as restaurants, pubs, video arcades, and Family Entertainment Centers. Most arcade games are redemption games, merchandisers, video games or pinball machines. .

 to consumers, Capcom has teamed up with GamePro magazine to provide a sample copy of GamePro with a discounted subscription offer available only to Fighters Edge members. In addition, Fighters Edge is supported by a multi-tiered marketing campaign consisting of print-ads in the major game magazines, promotions on Capcom's Web site and in-store POP displays at participating retailers. To stimulate consumer recognition, Fighters Edge products will have a similar package style to maximize impact at retail.
