Consumer protection. (Mexico on the Web).

Historically, Mexican consumers have not had as many rights as those in Nafta partners Canada and t e United' States. A buyer-beware mentality prevails in Mexico instead of the "customer is always right" mantra mantra (măn`trə, mŭn–), in Hinduism and Buddhism, mystic words used in ritual and meditation. A mantra is believed to be the sound form of reality, having the power to bring into being the reality it represents. . Fortunately, there have been advances, led by the federal consumer protection agency Profeco, now a quarter century old. In fact, government websites are leading the way in showcasing the work of consumer protection.
