Consumer Shopping Patterns and Survey Net New Verizon Yellow Pages for Westchester, Putnam and Greenwich.


Idearc Media Idearc Media (pronounced EYE-dee-arc) is a spinoff of Verizon's print and online yellow pages business. PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Based on a consumer shopping pattern study conducted in the Westchester region, Idearc Media Corp., publisher of the Verizon(R) Yellow Pages and home to Superpages.com(R), combined seven directories into two new robust and compact 71/2-inches-by-9-inches Verizon Yellow Pages directories for the Westchester North and South communities. Distribution of both directories is in progress.

The two individual directories - Verizon Yellow Pages Northern Westchester Northern Westchester refers to the northern portion of Westchester County, New York (USA), a suburban area north of New York City. Northern Westchester County is generally a wealthier area, and it is also considerably more rural (or at least rural-looking) than its southern  and Putnam edition and the Verizon Yellow Pages Southern Westchester Southern Westchester, alternatively called Lower Westchester, is one of two major distinct areas of Westchester County, New York (USA) the other being Northern Westchester. , Putnam and Greenwich edition -reflect the shopping patterns of area consumers who purchase goods and services In economics, economic output is divided into physical goods and intangible services. Consumption of goods and services is assumed to produce utility (unless the "good" is a "bad"). It is often used when referring to a Goods and Services Tax.  in their local neighborhoods.

Based on market research, consumers who were physically located in Northern Westchester and Putnam, on average, shopped 7.5 out of 10 times within the Northern Westchester and Putnam areas. Furthermore, consumers physically located in Southern Westchester predominantly pre·dom·i·nant

Seven most often-used categories were used to gauge the distance consumers were willing to travel from their home base to search for products or services. Categories included:
1. Home furnishings, electronics, appliances and accessories

2. Doctors and dentists

3. Contractors for home repair, renovation, plumbers or electricians

4. Automobiles, new or used

5. Auto repair and service

6. Lawyers

7. Restaurants, not including fast food or diners.

The directories features include:

Shoppers will also receive a 61/2-inches-by-81/2-inches Verizon[R] Yellow Pages Companion Directory, featuring listings, advertisements, menu pages and money saving coupons.

For residents who choose to access business listings via the Internet, Superpages.com (www.superpages.com), the expert in local search, with more than 2.8 billion network searches in 2006, enables them to find local and national businesses and compare goods and services of merchants when they are ready to buy.
