Consumer Reports rates Alpine Lace American slices best.


MAPLEWOOD, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 1996--The May 1996 issue of Consumer Reports magazine has rated Alpine Lace Brands Inc.'s (NASDAQ NASDAQ

Based on a sampling of twelve different individually wrapped American slices, ranging from full fat to fat free, Alpine Lace 50% less fat slices was rated highest of all reduced fat or fat free cheese currently available. Alpine Lace also ranked very close behind its full fat counterparts in quality, texture and taste. Alpine Lace slices were described as good with cheese flavor, while other brands were described as having off-flavors of chemicals and plastic as well as melting poorly.
