Consumer Credit Consumer Credit A debt that someone incurs for the purpose of purchasing a good or service.
Notes: A mortgage for purchasing a house is technically not consumer credit. However, the 52 inch television you put on your credit card is a great example. The organization was formed at the beginning of this year through the merger of four regional credit counseling services, including Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Los Angeles, where Rothchild was a board member for the past seven years. Rothchild is general counsel of Legal Aid of Los Angeles.
