Grubb & Ellis was hired to investigate the market on behalf of SYPartners and find spaces in Manhattan where the company could work in a creative atmosphere. In addition to handling the leasing requirement, Grubb & Ellis's project management team, including Alan Lurie and Jeff Bornheimer, will assist SYPartners during the entire construction phase of the project. Like their San Francisco base, SYPartners wanted a diverse and unique area, which they found in this Chelsea neighborhood. The building they chose comprises a total of 162,000 s/f and offers city views, windows on four sides and convenient access to public transportation. SYPartners will utilize approximately 3,000 s/f of the more than 13,000 s/f to create and develop two groundbreaking labs within their space: one a Leadership lab and the other, a Prototyping lab. Siegel, said, "SYPartners wanted a space that was similar to their San Francisco office--ambitious, functional, different and creative, much like the company itself. With the diversity of their client base, their employees, and their duties, they needed a neighborhood that mirrored that, as well as the space that allowed them to expand." |
