Consultants take look at branding of William Hill.


WILLIAM HILL The name William Hill may refer to the following: People
  • William Hill (Australian politician) (1866-1939), a long serving member of the Australian House of Representatives.
 has appointed consultancy Wolff Olins Wolff Olins is a brand consultancy founded in 1965. Part of the Omnicom Group, it has offices in London and New York.

Wolff Olins is known for high-profile branding of, among others, Apple Records, First Direct, Orange, Unilever, Tate, London 2012, (
 to carry out a review of its brand positioning.

The agency has been hired on a shortterm basis to work on proposals looking at the company's brand strategy, with Wolff Olins saying it will be responding to changing consumer betting habits.

William Hill director of racing and PR, David Hood David Hood is a world class bassist from Muscle Shoals, Alabama. He also plays the trombone and is a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

Hood started his career as a back-up musician at FAME Studios, then went on to found Muscle Shoals Sound Studio where he produced
, said: "Wolff Olins have been taken on as part of a review exercise looking particularly at the online business rather than retail, and at ways in which to develop williamhill.com in overseas territories." Hood dismissed reports earlier this year that the firm was looking at changing its name to Bill Hill, saying: "There is an awful lot of credibility surrounding the name William Hill. We have had the name for 75 years and are not likely to change it in the near future."
