Construction projects: ranked by cost.EXECUTIVE SUMMARY For the second consecutive year, the 25 largest construction projects currently ongoing in L.A. County all have individual construction values exceeding $100 million. The wave of large projects is a result of numerous factors. The 12 hospital projects on this year's list are renovating or building facilities to comply with a state law requiring hospitals to complete seismic upgrades by 2008. Capital improvement projects for school districts and other government agencies have also contributed to the massive construction effort under way throughout the county.
