Construction of IKEA Sunrise Progresses with Walls Now Raised.

Swedish Retailer's 1st Florida Store and 2nd in South on Track to Open Fall 2007

SUNRISE, Fla. -- IKEA, the world's leading home furnishings retailer, today noted that all major walls are standing for its store opening this fall in Sunrise, FL. Until the 293,000 square-foot IKEA Sunrise opens early Fall 2007 in Broward County, customers can shop at the closest IKEA store, which opened June 2005 in Atlanta, or online at www.IKEA.com. (Additionally, another Florida store is slated to open late Fall 2007 in Orlando.)

Under construction at the northwestern corner of I-595/SR-84 and N.W. 136th Avenue, the 20-acre IKEA site is located in the planned 25-acre 'Gateway at Sawgrass,' a new retail center being built by Ft. Lauderdale-based Stiles Corporation. The future IKEA Sunrise will reflect the unique architectural design for which IKEA stores are known worldwide, and will be adjacent to 40,000 s.f. of first-class specialty retail shops and restaurants to be developed by Stiles on more than five acres along N.W. 136th Avenue.

"With our foundation poured and our walls raised, we are proud that IKEA Sunrise is well on its way to a grand opening this fall," observed David Iemolo, IKEA real estate director for the U.S. "With steel and the roof going up next, we hope to be fully enclosed by late Spring 2007. We know there are many shoppers anxious for us to open."

IKEA Sunrise will present 50 different room settings, three complete model homes, a supervised children's play area, and a 250-seat restaurant serving Swedish specialties such as meatballs with lingonberries or salmon plates, as well as American dishes. Family-friendly features include a Children's IKEA area in the showroom, baby care rooms, preferred parking and play areas throughout the store. In addition to 500 construction jobs, 400 coworkers will join the IKEA family when the new store opens.
