Construction of IKEA Sunrise Progresses with Walls Now Raised.


Swedish Retailer's 1st Florida Store and 2nd in South on Track to Open Fall 2007

SUNRISE, Fla. -- IKEA IKEA Ingvar Kamprad Elmtaryd Agunnaryd (Swedish home furnishings retailer founder's initials and location) , the world's leading home furnishings retailer, today noted that all major walls are standing for its store opening this fall in Sunrise, FL. Until the 293,000 square-foot IKEA Sunrise opens early Fall 2007 in Broward County, customers can shop at the closest IKEA store, which opened June 2005 in Atlanta, or online at www.IKEA.com. (Additionally, another Florida store is slated to open late Fall 2007 in Orlando.)

Under construction at the northwestern corner of I-595/SR-84 and N.W. 136th Avenue, the 20-acre IKEA site is located in the planned 25-acre 'Gateway at Sawgrass Sawgrass can be:

Family-friendly features include a Children's IKEA area in the showroom, baby care rooms, preferred parking and play areas throughout the store. In addition to 500 construction jobs, 400 coworkers will join the IKEA family when the new store opens.
