Construction firm take on a new name.

A MAJOR construction company has changed its name.

HBG Construction, the firm which built Huddersfield University's striking new creative arts building became BAM Construction yesterday, linking in with its European parent company, Royal BAM Group.

HBG Construction, which has regional headquarters at Birstall and Gateshead, Tyne and Wear Tyne and Wear, former metropolitan county, NE England. Created in the 1974 local government reorganization, the county embraced the Newcastle upon Tyne conurbation and comprised five metropolitan districts: Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, , has undertaken a string of developments across Yorkshire.

Projects include new buildings for the schools of education and human and health sciences at Huddersfield University, Leeds Grammar School Leeds Grammar School was an independent school in Leeds established in 1552. In August 2005 it merged with Leeds Girls' High School to form The Grammar School at Leeds. The two schools will be physically united by September 2008. , Leeds Metropolitan University Coordinates:

 and Selby College.

Other projects include restoring historic theatre Leeds City Varieties and build offices and stores for clients including BT, ASDA, Tesco and Marks & Spencer.

HBG's facilities management business is to be re-branded as BAMFM. That business manages a range of services for Wharfedale and Doncaster Hospitals, including ground and building maintenance, energy, helpdesk and health and safety.
