Construction Innovation Forum seeking nominations for NOVA innovation awards. (Technology Update).


The Construction Innovation Forum (CIF (1) (Common Intermediate Format) A standard video format used in videoconferencing. CIF formats are defined by their resolution, and standards both above and below the original resolution have been established. The original CIF is also known as Full CIF (FCIF). ) has announced the call for nominations for 2003 NOVA Awards The Nova Awards are presented annually at the UK science fiction covention Novacon and recognise achievement in British and Irish sf fanzines.

When initiated in 1973, a panel of sf fans named the best fanzine that year.
 honoring construction innovations around the world. Entries are sought from every section of the construction industry. Nominations for the 2003 NOVA Awards are due on Oct. 1. Nomination forms may be downloaded from CIF's web site at www.cif.org See .org.

The Construction Innovation Forum is a non-profit, international organization founded in 1987 to encourage and recognize innovations that have improved the quality or reduce the cost of construction. CIF's goal is to educate industry leaders on the importance of innovation in the construction industry and encourage others to develop, implement, and require innovative processes.

The NOVA Award is CIF's most distinguished honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. To pay or to accept and pay, or, where a credit so engages, to purchase or discount a draft complying with the terms of the draft. . Recipients are carefully chosen based upon strict selection criteria and a rigorous investigation process by a jury of international experts. To be selected for a NOVA Award, an innovation must be a proven success with a positive, important effect on construction or service.

It must improve quality, reduce cost, and promote good, acceptable construction practices. The innovation must be a significant advance, not just a natural evolution of existing methods, common sense or good practices. Finally, the innovation must be document-able and presentable pre·sent·a·ble

The 2003 winners will be announced in February 2003 and will join an elite list of only 50 innovations worldwide to be honored hon·or
