ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. -- Construction Imaging Systems Brings to Market an Affordable, Full Featured Product for the Small to Medium Sized Contractor, Homebuilder and Property Manager

Construction Imaging Systems, the recognized leader in document management solutions for the construction industry, today announced the delivery of their new document imaging solution for small to medium sized organizations. The product, Chameleon(R), is designed for use by contractors, homebuilders, developers and property management organizations and can integrate with their current or future accounting packages.

This easy to use product provides the user a comprehensive index structure based on the type of document being scanned. Whether the document is an accounts payable invoice, a document related to a job, property or human resource file, Chameleon allows the user to utilize a multi-line index for simple or complex queries and searches, allowing for quick and easy retrieval at any time, based on the appropriate security (security is at the document level, thereby keeping important information safe). Chameleon integrates with users' accounting and/or project management software, thereby saving keystrokes and maintaining a coordinated database of information. The application gives users the ability to store and view .pdf files, email, photos, drawings, spreadsheets, and word processing documents.

One of the most important features of Chameleon is an easy to use routing system to route all documents. An audit trail automatically logs all the documents sent, waiting, approved and entered within the system. Additionally, there is notification functionality so an approver receives an email informing them that there are documents waiting for approval. This prevents invoices from being lost or mishandled and tightens up the approval process and turnaround time.

In addition to the ability to easily scan and index any type of document, there is a comprehensive note system that allows users to annotate documents. These notes are stored with the document in perpetuity and includes both the note author and the date and time that the note was created.

An additional time saving feature is the ability to email a document from the application. The document will be received by the user in its native form so that no special software will be needed by the receiver to view the information.
