Consolve introduces SiteView 3D environmental visualization software for Microsoft Windows.

LEXINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 19, 1994--ConSolve today announced the commercial release of SiteView, the first true three-dimensional environmental visualization software for Microsoft Windows See Windows.

(operating system) Microsoft Windows - Microsoft's proprietary window system and user interface software released in 1985 to run on top of MS-DOS. Widely criticised for being too slow (hence "Windoze", "Microsloth Windows") on the machines available then.
 personal computers.

SiteView addresses one of the major demands of environmental professionals today: how to quickly and inexpensively visualize the huge quantities of spatial data Data that is represented as 2D or 3D images. A geographic information system (GIS) is one of the primary applications of spatial data (land maps). See spatial analysis, spatial resolution and GIS glossary.  collected during environmental projects. SiteView -- running on Windows PC's -- provides the same advanced visualization technology that until now had only been found on expensive graphics workstations.

SiteView is the first 3D environmental visualization software designed specifically to take advantage of low cost Microsoft Windows platforms, and to cost under $500. The use of advanced graphics technology allows ConSolve to deliver an easy-to-use product that brings together all the data and functionality environmental professionals need to portray hazardous waste Hazardous waste

sites, air emission plumes, marine and surface water pollution, and other environmental conditions. SiteView's 3D capabilities make it a natural complement to two-dimensional geographic information systems (GIS's), or a commanding front-end to data management applications.

SiteView users can create custom 3D views of physical and chemical conditions in soil, air, water, and other media. These views can include solid models of plumes displayed in iso-shells, 3D models of surfaces, fence and solid models of geology, digital terrain, and CAD drawings. SiteView also accepts three-dimensional CAD drawings in DXF DXF - Drawing Exchange Format  format for applications to buildings and facilities management The management of a user's computer installation by an outside organization. All operations including systems, programming and the datacenter can be performed by the facilities management organization on the user's premises. . These visualizations can be built in minutes using SiteView's simple spreadsheet Simple Spreadsheet is a web-based spreadsheet program written in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP. It features formulas, charts, formats, cell/row merging, cell locking, keyboard navigation, etc.  and DXF import capabilities. SiteView is as easy to learn and simple to use as common word processing or spreadsheet products.

According to Gregory Baecher, ConSolve's president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. , site owners and environmental consultants have a pressing need to better understand spatial information, and to better communicate environmental conditions to management, regulators, clients, contractors, the public, and other stakeholders.  breakthrough of SiteView is that it delivers the compelling 3D visualizations that up to now have only been possible with software costing tens of thousands of dollars, and it does so on inexpensive PC's on your desktop. This gives every environmental professional access to modern visualization capability."
