Consolidation brings southern office under a northern roof.

A North Bay mine engineering and construction firm is more than doubling its workforce and is looking for larger accommodations.

Cementation Skanska Canada Inc. is consolidating its Ontario operations in North Bay by closing a contracting office in southern Ontario and shifting some administrative staff over from Sudbury. The closure of their Aurora contracting office and the transfer of Sudbury staff, combined with some new hires will mean 28 new jobs for North Bay and grow the company's local presence to between 65 and 70 people.

"We're also actively looking for new facilities and we're hoping the next few weeks to finalize that because our present facilities aren't large enough for our full group," says Cementation Skanska Canada Inc. president Roy Slack.
