Consolidated Viscount Positive Surface Results at Voisey's Bay Properties.VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 1996-- CONSOLIDATED VISCOUNT (VSE See DOS/VSE. VSE - Virtual Storage Extended : CVR CVR See contingent value right (CVR). .) Consolidated Viscount Resources Ltd. (CVR - VSE) announces positive surface results from additional exploration on the Voisey's B}logical mapping, extensive sampling, and ground geophysics on these properties further evaluation coincident EM/Mag airborne anomalies identified in 1995. The VOISEY'S BAY EAST PROPERTY is located approximately six kilometres east of the easternmost boundary of the Diamond Fields discovery block and occurs along a major east-west structural feature that occurs throughout the region. Sulphide mineralization Mineralization The process by which the body uses minerals to build bone structure. Mentioned in: Rickets mineralization, n the bioprecipitation of an inorganic substance. These alteration zones are coincident with EM-Mag anomalies identified by airborne surveys completed in 1995. Surface samples taken from massive to semi-massive magnetite magnetite (măg`nətīt), lustrous black, magnetic mineral, Fe3O4. It occurs in crystals of the cubic system, in masses, and as a loose sand. bearing alteration zones have assayed up to 1.83 percent Cu, 0.317 percent Ni and 0.05 percent Co, resulting in a combined grade of 2.2 percent. Another extensive alteration zone of leucotroctolite with enclaves of metasediments occurs in the south-central portion of the property. It has a strike length in excess of 300 metres and contains localized semi-massive pyrite and chalcopyrite mineralization. Observations of the anorthositic and troctolitic sequences throughout the property, indicate that they are part of a zoned intrusive suite with locally developed igneous ig·ne·ous adj. 1. The property was initially staked by CVR for its strategic proximity to the collisional boundary of the Churchill Province and Nain Province rocks, anomalous lake sediments, and the presence of a complex sequence of east-west and north-south fault structures. Airborne anomalies and gossanous zones were identified in 1995. Recent investigations identified several new sulphide bearing alteration zones associated with layered anorthosites and olivine-bearing troctolitic rocks. Grids were established over several coincident EM-Mag airborne anomalies and an extensive program of geological mapping, ground geophysics (magnetometer and VLF-EM) surveys, and sampling was completed. Samples taken from twelve gossans located within a five kilometre square area, have shown that the anorthositic units in the area contain copper-nickel-cobalt mineralization. A sample taken from Showing #1 graded 0.52 percent Cu, 0.38 percent Ni, and 0.13 percent Co. Samples from Showing #2 contained up to 0.48 percent Cu, 0.41 percent Ni, and 0.08 percent Co and a sample twenty metres south assayed 0.65 percent Cu, 0.25 percent Ni, and 0.09 percent Co. These showings had a strike length of up to 100 metres in length, and are thought to have a relationship to other showings in the area which could result in possible strike lengths of the zones to be in excess of 500 metres along east-west structures. Both the aerial extent of the showings, and consistent indication of sulphide content within the layered anorthosites is considered to be strongly indicative of a base metal mineralizing environment. Further geophysical work will pinpoint drill targets in the identified zones. Drill permits are being applied for. Additional work was also completed on the Hebron Lake, Kingurutik River, and Paradise River properties. These properties were further assessed as a result of 1995 field investigations noting significant potential for base-metal mineralization. Initial results from 1996 field efforts indicate that the Kingurutik River properties contain conductive zones that are coincident with previously identified airborne EM-Mag anomalies and contain visible massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization. Mineralized zones have been further delineated de·lin·e·ate tr.v. de·lin·e·at·ed, de·lin·e·at·ing, de·lin·e·ates 1. To draw or trace the outline of; sketch out. 2. All zones were extensively sampled and results are expected within the next two weeks. -0- The Vancouver Stock Exchange Vancouver Stock Exchange (VSE) A securities and options exchange in Vancouver, British Columbia, (Canada), specializing in venture capital companies.
