Consilium Signs Software Development Agreement With HCL Infosystems.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 28, 1997-- Consilium Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIM), the leading independent supplier of manufacturing execution systems (MES) software and services, today announced that Consilium and HCL Infosystems, formerly known as HCL Hewlett Packard, have expanded their agreement to develop software in Chennai, India.

Frank Kaplan, Consilium's senior vice president of software development and quality assurance stated: "When we established the Center last year, Consilium was responding to the tremendous demand for skilled software programmers for our business. By teaming with HCL Infosystems, Consilium can utilize HCL's experienced staff of UNIX, NT and VMS programmers. In addition, we can provide our customers with broader coverage by operating out of two development centers."

Kaplan continued: "The Center, presently staffed with over 40 HCL employees, is expected to grow during the period of the agreement. The Center will emphasize the design, development, test and support of Consilium's present family of FlowStream(R) and WorkStream DFS(TM) products in collaboration with Consilium's Mountain View headquarters, while Mountain View will continue to focus primarily on the development of new products and services."
