A CITY developer has been handed a national award for its work transforming Coventry's University Hospital.

Skanska Coventry JV built a new access road and extensive car parks at the pounds 400million hospital site in Walsgrave as part of the second phase of the Coventry New Hospitals project. It also installed external lights, surface water drainage Wa´ter drain´age

 and was responsible for landscaping the site.

The hospital is one of 64 sites to land a coveted Considerate con·sid·er·ate  
adj.

2. Characterized by careful thought; deliberate.
 Constructors Scheme 2009 National Gold Award, out of more than 7,000 eligible sites. Paul Crofton, the New Hospitals project director said: "This was a remarkable achievement bearing in mind that there is only one entrance in and out of the whole site".

Norman Reed, chairman of the scheme, said: "It is encouraging to be able to reward sites for their extremely high standards of considerate site practice."
