At Orlando's Orange County Convention Center, the Center of Hospitality, we've always had a singular goal--to deliver the most complete, productive and enjoyable convention experience for the planner, exhibitor and attendee.

In order to accomplish that goal year in and year out, we've installed the most advanced IT infrastructure and assembled the most complete package of show management and exhibitor services available at any convention center anywhere.

And when you consider size, location and style, our facility is quite simply, second to none.

But, we're not the kind of people who rest on our laurels--even after Orlando was named the number one meeting and trade show destination in the world, according to Tradeshow Week magazine's 28th Annual Survey of Corporate Exhibitors. Instead, we're working to make our great Convention Center even greater. The Convention Center's new North/South Building brings our total exhibition space to 2.1 million square feet and increases the combined meeting and public space to 7 million square feet.

Yes, that's an incredible number, but then again, this is an incredible Center.

The new North/South Building is impressive not just for its size, but for its advanced technology and design as well. With striking architectural features, comfortable yet dynamic interior design, and a pedestrian walkway with moving sidewalks connecting the Center's new North/South Building to the West Building, you can now add "spectacular" and "awesome" to the adjectives you use to describe it. In order to create a facility that balances both form and function, the Center's Operations staff worked in partnership with TVS, the nation's top convention center architects. As a result, the North/South Building features such dramatic details as four grand archway entrances, wide panoramic concourses bathed in natural light, and views of lush tropical landscaping. With the opening of the North/South Building, we've added:

* 1 million square feet of exhibition space divisible into 4 individual halls

* 2 general assembly areas, each with over 92,000 square feet of space

* Over 166,000 square feet of flexible meeting space--25 meeting rooms/94 breakouts

* 2 innovative restaurants overlooking the exhibit halls and 4 food courts

* 2,000 linear feet of underground loading docks fed by a 40 truck-space staging yard

* 4,777 parking spaces, bringing total on-site Convention Center parking to 6,227 spaces

And we're not the only ones expanding.

Orlando is experiencing an expansion in hotel accommodations, too. The area currently boasts more than 110,000 quality hotel rooms, with approximately 8,000 in the Convention Center vicinity. And just 3.5 miles away, at the spectacular 500-acre Grand Lakes Resort, the new 1,000-room JW Marriott Orlando Grand Lakes and 584-room Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grand Lakes, give meeting planners and their attendees even more luxury accommodations to choose from.

Plus, in addition to the incredible weather, world-famous theme parks and world-class golf, Orlando recently added one more reason for visitors to love it here--a wonderful new shopping area featuring Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Neiman Marcus and more.
