Conservatives chide GOP chair.


The religious right has long advocated excluding openly gay Republicans from the GOP. But now the Family Research Council, a leading Christian conservative group, has taken that sentiment one step further, targeting Republican members of Congress who merely meet with the gay group the Log Cabin Republicans The Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) is a federated gay and lesbian political organization in the United States with state chapters and a national office in Washington, D.C. The group consists of gays and lesbians who are supporters of the Republican Party. .

In FRC's February l0 newsletter, the Washington, D.C.-based group criticized Rep. Tom Davis, chairman of the National Republican Campaign Committee, for "lending ... legitimacy to radical homosexual groups."
