The Southwest Conservation Corps (SCC SCC - strongly connected component ), a nonprofit A corporation or an association that conducts business for the benefit of the general public without shareholders and without a profit motive.

 conservation organization, has raised more than $330,000 for sponsorship of summer projects for youth throughout the Southwest.

Projects include trail work in San Juan National Forest The San Juan National Forest is a U.S. National Forest covering over 1,800,000 acres (7,200 km²) in Archuleta, Conjeos, Dolores, Hinsdale, La Plata, Mineral, Montezuma, Rio Grande, San Miguel and San Juan Counties in Western Colorado.  and restoring 20 acres of the Ridgway River Corridor in Ridgway, Colorado.

The SCC is the result of a January merger between the Southwest Youth Corps and the Youth Corps of Arizona Arizona (âr'əzō`nə), state in the southwestern United States. It is bordered by Utah (N), New Mexico (E), Mexico (S), and, across the Colorado R., Nevada and California (W). , which will log more than 60,000 hours of service maintaining recreational trails and open space with the goal of protecting
