Cons warning.


Police are warning residents in Washington to be aware of a van which has been used in a number of scams.

Officers say the red Ford Transit The Ford Transit is a range of panel vans, minibuses and pickup trucks, produced by the Ford Motor Company in Europe.

The Transit has been the best-selling light commercial vehicle in Europe for 40 years, and in some countries the term "Transit" has passed into common usage
 which has been spotted in the town and neighbouring Houghton-le-Spring in the past few days has been used in a series of deceptions.

The registration on the wanted van is YH51 XOP XOP XML-binary Optimized Packaging
XOP X-ray Oriented Programs
.

A police spokesman said: "Police in Washington are investigating a number of offences of deception which have occurred over the last three days."
