ConocoPhillips' Bayway Refinery to Host First Commercial Demonstration of Davison's S-Brane Technology.Business Editors COLUMBIA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 30, 2003 Davison Catalysts, a business unit of W. R. Grace & Co. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :GRA GRA Graphic Arts GRA Grande Raccordo Anulare (circular highway surrounding Rome, Italy) GRA Graduate Research Assistant GRA Georgia Research Alliance GRA Graduate Research Assistantship GRA Guyana Revenue Authority ), has announced that ConocoPhillips' Bayway, New Jersey refinery will host the first commercial demonstration plant for Davison's S-Brane(TM) process. S-Brane is a novel, low capital cost and low operating cost process for gasoline sulfur removal. Refiners with no gasoline splitting capability and higher sulfur levels are better served by ConocoPhillips' S Zorb(TM) sulfur removal process. The S-Brane demonstration plant, easily scaleable to full commercial scale, will process between 100 and 300 barrels per day Barrels per day (abbreviated BPD, bbl/d, bpd, bd or b/d) is a measurement used to describe the amount of crude oil (measured in barrels) produced or consumed by an entity in one day. of either light or intermediate boiling range FCC (1) (Federal Communications Commission, Washington, DC, www.fcc.gov) The U.S. government agency that regulates interstate and international communications including wire, cable, radio, TV and satellite. The FCC was created under the U.S. gasoline. Target clean product sulfur level will be below 30 ppm. Construction of the skid mounted demonstration plant is underway and startup is scheduled for early 2003. The S-Brane process is best utilized with low sulfur, light to intermediate boiling range gasoline making it an excellent fit at refineries like Bayway that have an existing gasoline splitter and relatively low gasoline sulfur levels. An additional benefit at the Bayway refinery Bayway Refinery is a refining facility located in Linden, New Jersey and Elizabeth, New Jersey, owned by ConocoPhillips. This is the northernmost refinery on the East Coast of the United States. is the presence of existing gasoline hydroprocessing equipment that is capable of processing some portion of the gasoline.
