Connotate Announces Appointment of Dr. Satish Thatte to VP of Engineering; Experienced Industry Professional to Provide Engineering Leadership.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. -- As a leading provider of technology solutions that monitor and extract multi-dimensional content from the Web, Connotate Technologies, located in New Jersey, announced today the appointment of Dr. Satish M. Thatte to Vice President of Engineering. The newly created position will provide engineering and product development for the company. It will also focus on technology development, product engineering and intellectual property for Connotate's products and professional services. Dr. Thatte will report directly to Bruce Molloy, president and CEO of Connotate.

"Dr. Thatte who holds 13 U.S. patents and one international patent, has a very strong track record in research and development, commercial product development, software product management, and global software delivery," said Mr. Molloy. "In addition to a keen knowledge of global software delivery, he brings proven skills in developing intellectual property, software processes and life cycle methodologies," he adds.

With over 25 years of experience, Dr. Thatte has held numerous management positions for both Fortune 500 companies and high-tech start-ups. He worked at Texas Instruments in Dallas for 13 years on a variety of technology research projects, where he also served as Director of the company's Information Technologies Laboratory. Following his role at Texas Instruments, Dr. Thatte worked for five years at Bellcore in Piscataway, New Jersey, as Director of Internet Information Management. At Bellcore, he was responsible for the development of innovative Web-based products and applications.

Additional experience includes four years at Triveni Digital (a subsidiary of LG Electronics) in Princeton, New Jersey as Director of Product Management, where Dr. Thatte handled product management and marketing support for several innovative products including digital TV, interactive TV and data broadcasting. Prior to joining Connotate, he founded the Enterprise Solutions division at The Digital Group in Princeton, where he also served as Vice President. While there, additional accomplishments included the creation of a global software delivery model and an offshore development center in India.

With extensive experience in information technology standards development, Dr. Thatte was Bellcore's representative at the MIT-based World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and Triveni Digital's representative at various digital TV standards forums. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
