Connetics Presents 11 Scientific Posters at American Academy of Dermatology's 63rd Annual Meeting; Studies Feature New Data on Velac and Evoclin.

PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Connetics Corporation (Nasdaq:CNCT), a specialty pharmaceutical company that develops and commercializes dermatology products, today announced that 11 posters sponsored by Connetics have been accepted and will be presented at the American Academy of Dermatology's (AAD's) 63rd annual meeting to be held February 18th through the 22nd in New Orleans.

Among the featured posters are five focused on Connetics' investigational new drug candidate Velac(R) (a combination of 1% clindamycin and 0.025% tretinoin) Gel, for the treatment of acne vulgaris. One such poster provides data from two, large and well-controlled trials demonstrating the superiority of the combination clindamycin and tretinoin compared with each agent alone and against vehicle.

Connetics also will have three other acne therapy posters featuring its recently approved Evoclin(TM) (clindamycin) Foam, 1%, one of which demonstrates the enhanced effect of the co-application of Evoclin and benzoyl peroxide on skin absorption of clindamycin.

Psoriasis also will be a focused topic with posters presented on OLUX(R), including one study that demonstrates the synergistic effect of the concomitant application of OLUX and calcipotriene ointment, which may result in greater clinical efficacy in the short-term treatment of psoriasis and in the maintenance of remission. Another psoriasis poster will feature Soriatane(R), demonstrating low-dose therapy having equivalent efficacy to high-dose therapy but with an improved side-effect profile.

Poster presenters will be available at their even-number poster displays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th and at the odd-numbered poster displays from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20th.
