), a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology, announced today that on June 20, 2005 it filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission a resale registration statement on Form S-1 covering Connetics' 2.00% Convertible Senior Notes due March 30, 2015 and the shares of common stock into which the Notes are convertible. The Notes were placed in private transactions in March 2005. The registration statement was filed on behalf of the selling security holders and the Company will not receive any proceeds from the resale of the Notes or the underlying common stock.

The registration statement relating to these securities has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
