Visitors to the site can also learn how to obtain BiDil at no cost for uninsured and under-insured patients. The unique website design was created for doctors and patients to easily access clinical information on BiDil, a drug used as adjunct therapy in the treatment of heart failure for African Americans.

The redesigned BiDil.com website makes it simple for doctors and patients (or caregivers) to obtain information meeting their specific needs. From the start, visitors to the homepage of BiDil.com choose either the doctor or patient option, and are directed to the appropriate content.

"There is a tremendous utility in our website to help doctors and patients gain access to this important treatment for African Americans," observed B.J. Jones, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at NitroMed, the maker of BiDil.

"BiDil.com's design and navigation essentially serves as a virtual sales force to disseminate information quickly and effectively to busy healthcare professionals," said Robert Guay, Director of Interactive at Connelly Partners. "The site also empowers patients, as they benefit from the breadth of information and tools at their fingertips "Fingertips" is a 1963 number-one hit single recorded live by "Little" Stevie Wonder for Motown's Tamla label. Wonder's first hit single, "Fingertips" was the first live, non-studio recording to reach number-one on the Billboard Pop Singles chart in the United States. ."

In addition to viewing the standard clinical resources, clinical trial results and patient information, patients utilizing BiDil.com may download suggested questions for their physician and learn more about heart failure education for the African American patient. NitroMed plans to include videos and on-demand teleconferences on the site in the future.
