Connective Technologies Enhances TEAM-UP to Support Policy, Billing and Claims Inquiries.

Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 2003

Connective connective - An operator used in logic to combine two logical formulas. See first order logic.  Technologies Inc., a Houston-based e-commerce solution provider to the insurance industry, today announced that they have completed recent enhancements to the TEAM-UP TEAM-UP Test, Evaluation, Analysis and Management Uniformity Plan  product that automate policy, billing and claims inquiries. These inquiries are initiated directly from the agents' desktop agency management system. Support for these inquiry transactions has been added to the TEAM-UP modules that already process new business and quote transactions.

TEAM-UP follows the "hybrid" interface approach, which re-uses a company's Web site rather than building, distributing and maintaining company unique edits. Agents have been very receptive to this type of interface because it eliminates the number one complaint of carrier Web sites, which is duplicate entry. This interface approach is also growing among carriers due to the ability to reduce the time to market and lessen vendor dependence.

"Connective had several business objectives that we were trying to achieve with this release of TEAM-UP. First, we wanted to make it easy for agents to use. Second, we wanted to capitalize on Cap´i`tal`ize on`

the investment that carriers have been making in their own Web infrastructure. Third, it had to be real-time and eliminate duplicate entry. With this release, we've achieved those goals," states David Hahn This article documents a court case.

Once the file has reached the carrier, TEAM-UP has extensive integration capabilities built on the WebSphere platform so that the carrier's existing processing infrastructure can be used for such things as real-time rating and issuance.

TEAM-UP was introduced to the market in June 2002 and has gained significant traction with carriers. The full implementation of the solution is estimated to take between 4 to 6 weeks per line of business depending on the availability of existing carrier components.
