Connecting Teachers with Donors: Mirror Image Internet Enables DonorsChoose.org to Ensure Website Performance amidst Traffic Surges.

Leading Provider of Content Delivery Solutions is a Key Enabler in Non-Profit's National Expansion Plans

TEWKSBURY, Mass. -- Mirror Image[R] Internet, a leading provider of content delivery solutions powered by a patented global network, today announced that DonorsChoose.org, a not-for-profit website designed to provide students in need with resources that public schools often lack, is leveraging its Global Content Caching solution to reliably deliver online content and ensure website performance during peak traffic periods. Mirror Image recently helped DonorsChoose.org withstand a three-fold increase in traffic stemming from a segment on ABC ABC

DonorsChoose.org began a search for a solution that could effectively support website visitors, especially during peak periods, without requiring extensive infrastructure investments. Based on a positive referral, the organization selected Mirror Image's Global Content Caching solution to reliably and cost-effectively deliver content while improving the online experience for teachers and donors. The solution offloads processing and protects websites from traffic spikes by leveraging Mirror Image's global Content Access Point[R] (CAP) network to ensure optimal performance. Because of the scalability Mirror Image affords, DonorsChoose.org was able to effectively withstand a three-fold increase in traffic stemming from a recent segment on ABC World News. As a result, nearly $50,000 in donations was facilitated in the hours immediately following the segment - a figure that would not have been possible had the performance of the website declined even slightly.

"The performance of the DonorsChoose.org website is paramount to our success as an organization and a non-profit," said Charles Best, Founder and CEO of DonorsChoose.org. "Without Mirror Image, we wouldn't be able to handle surges in our website traffic and there would be literally hundreds, if not thousands, of public school students who would not have received books and other valuable supplies from generous donors around the country. The support from Mirror Image has been phenomenal from the beginning, and we're excited to see the partnership grow in conjunction with the growth of our organization."

Currently open to schools in four cities and nine states, DonorsChoose.org will open to every public school in America this fall.
