Connecticut Technology Council Announces 2001-2002 Chair and Executive Committee.

EAST HARTFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 6, 2001

The Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) announced today the appointment of Louis Hernandez, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Open Solutions, Inc. of Glastonbury, CT, as Chairman of the CTC.

Hernandez succeeds Elaine A. Pullen who will remain on the Board of Directors.

The CTC also announced its 2001-2002 Executive Committee, which includes: William T. Bromage, President of Webster Bank, as Vice President of Finance and Chairman of the Finance Committee; Marshall C. Harrison, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Imperium Solutions, as Vice President and Chairman of the Nominating Committee; and, Michele M. Macauda, Vice President-Network Services for SNET, as Vice President and Chairperson of the Compensation Committee. The Executive Committee further welcomes leaders from a wide array of technology companies, professional service providers, and academia including: Raymond A. (Tony) Allen, President of The IMPACT Group LLC; Constance F. Galley, Director of Mercator; Frank J. Marco, Esq., Partner of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, PC; Maria Mike-Mayer, Director of Corporate Relations for Yale University; J. Timothy Reilly, Partner in Charge of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP; and Dr. Gualberto Ruano, Chief Executive Officer of Genaissance Pharmaceuticals. The Tech Council is delighted to welcome these experienced leaders to the Executive Committee.

In addition to her role on the Executive Committee, Galley heads the Board of the CTC's eBizCT cluster for the growth and prosperity of software and Internet companies in Connecticut. Under the leadership of the Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD) and the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), the CTC is actively working to improve the awareness of Connecticut's strength in software and IT-based companies both within and outside the state.

The search for President of the Connecticut Technology Council continues to make excellent progress with the assistance of DHR Executive Search. Pullen, who is serving as Interim President, announced today that she will retire from the Executive Committee as soon as a permanent appointment is made and will take up a new position as President of a leading Connecticut technology company.
