Connecticut Natural Gas announces several restructuring changes in its Regulated Operations.

) announced today several restructuring changes in its Regulated Operations to strengthen the company's ability to operate in a changing marketplace.

Victor H. Frauenhofer, chairman, president and chief executive officer announced the following appointments as part of the restructuring:

James P. Bolduc is promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer. Bolduc will be responsible for the line business units of Operations, Regulatory Affairs Regulatory Affairs (RA), also called Government Affairs, is a profession within regulated industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, energy, and banking. Regulatory Affairs professionals usually have responsibility for the following general areas:
, Consumer Services Consumer Services refers to the formulation, deformulation, technical consulting and testing of most consumer products, such as food, herbs, beverages, vitamins, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, hair products, household cleaners, [paints, plastics, metals, waxes, coatings, minerals, , Human Resources The fancy word for "people." The human resources department within an organization, years ago known as the "personnel department," manages the administrative aspects of the employees.  and Finance.

Energy Services will be segregated into two separate units: a Marketing and NonCore Sales unit and an Energy Procurement and Transportation unit. Edna M. Karanian is promoted to vice president of the Energy Procurement and Transportation unit. Douglas Kirk, director of Marketing and NonCore Sales will assume full responsibility for the Marketing and NonCore Sales unit.

Bolduc has been with CTG for 26 years and has held a variety of positions within the regulated gas operations and CTG's subsidiaries. Prior to this appointment, he served as senior vice president -- financial services and chief financial officer.

 degree in business administration from Northeastern University and has completed the Center for Creative Leadership Program at Eckerd College. Bolduc is a member of the New England Gas Association Society of Gas Lighting, the American Management Association and the Managing Committee of the American Gas Association's Finance and Administrative Section. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Greater Hartford Arts Council, the Greater Hartford Chamber of Commerce, the Hartford Chorale chorale (kōrăl`, –räl`), any of the traditional hymns of the German Protestant Church. The form was developed after the Reformation to replace the plainsong of the earlier service and as a means of congregational participation in , Junior Achievement of North Central Connecticut and Fleet Bank's National Banking/Insurance Advisory Board. He is also a senior fellow of the American Leadership Forum.

Bolduc resides in Farmington with his wife, Elizabeth.

Karanian has been with CTG for 14 years. Prior to this appointment, she was assistant vice president -- energy planning and procurement. Karanian received her bachelor of arts degree in economics from Eastern Connecticut State University Eastern Connecticut State University is a public, coeducational liberal arts university and is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges. It is located in Willimantic, Connecticut.  and her master of science degree in business from the Hartford Graduate Center.

Karanian is a member of the American Gas Association's Federal Regulatory Policy Development Subcommittee. She is also a member of the Association of Energy Service Professionals, the Gas Industry Standards Board, the New England Chapter of the International Association for Energy Economics International Association for Energy Economics (IAEE) is an international non-profit society of professionals interested in energy economics. IAEE was founded in 1977, in the period of the energy crisis, when it became obvious that lack of knowledge on energy economics is one of  and represents CTG on the New England Gas Association's Gas Supply Task Force.

Karanian resides in Wethersfield with her husband, Ralph and their children, Jessica and Jonathan.
