Connecticut Energy announces promotion.


BRIDGEPORT, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1996-- Phyllis A. O'Brien was promoted to the position of group vice president of the Southern Connecticut Gas Company, a regulated subsidiary of Connecticut Energy Corp. (CNE-NYSE).

In her new position, O'Brien will have responsibility for Southern's general accounting, financial reporting, integrated resource planning Resource planning may refer to:
  • Enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Manufacturing resource planning (MRP and MRPII)
  • Distribution Resource Planning (DRP)
  • Human resources (HR)
 and customer relations functions. She previously served as vice president, accounting & regulatory services.

O'Brien is treasurer of the New England Gas Association. She also is a trustee of the Connecticut Policy and Economic Council Inc., and is a member of the School Volunteer Association of Bridgeport, Inc. O'Brien is a graduate of Sacred Heart University Anthony J. Cernera, Ph.D., has been president of Sacred Heart University for 18 years.

Sacred Heart University is known for its strong musical roots, and is well known for the Pioneer Bands. SHU is the second largest Catholic university in New England.
