AirClic Inc. announced today the launch of Connect2 (TM), enabled by AirClic. Connect2 provides consumers and businesses with a simple way to purchase a broad range of products from major merchants, shop among merchants, obtain valuable information about products, and, in many cases, locate a nearby store carrying the products. This is easily done using the ubiquitous bar codes that appear on virtually every product. Consumers and businesses can either manually input the numbers associated with a bar code through the keyboard of their PC, and eventually phone or PDA, or scan the bar code using one of a variety of scanning devices provided by AirClic.

Connect2 immediately allows consumers and businesses to buy and shop among multiple merchants in a broad array of product categories, including the following:

Connect2 helps consumers and businesses make the learning and buying process more convenient and efficient. Consumers that scan on a bar code on a CD or on an advertisement for that CD, for example, will be able to find out where they can buy the CD online or where they can find it in a physical store. They can also immediately obtain a wealth of information about the artist and title from third-party sources of their choice.

Connect2 will not only help consumers save time and money on everyday purchases, but it will also provide businesses with new channels to potential customers. These businesses will be able to offer additional promotions, coupons and other means of marketing and customer service. Overall, Connect2 will help businesses create value from their investments in content, e-commerce, and physical stores.

These services are immediately available through Web-enabled PCs. In July they will also be available on a variety of mobile phones.
