Connect to induct GA's Blue Bros. into Hall of Fame.

Connect, a nonprofit supporting local technology and biotechnology startups, is scheduled to induct brothers Linden and Neal Blue, L who turned General Atomics into a government contracting powerhouse, into its Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

The annual event celebrates San Diego's entrepreneurial heroes who have paved the way for today's breakthrough technologies.

This is the first time Connect has inducted two people at the same event, which is set for Jan. 28.

Since purchasing GA in 1986, the two have expanded a business that performed nuclear research into a group of companies pursuing such technologies as nuclear fusion and fission, laser technologies, ultra-wideband communications and electromagnetic propulsion for aircraft carrier launchers and light-rail use.

Just last week, GA won a research contract worth $43 million to study how to develop jet fuel from algae on a commercial scale.
