A new generation of data collection terminals will soon be sending and receiving data over the Internet, thanks to Connect One(TM), the leading provider of embedded Internet chips, hardware and Internet connectivity software solutions.

Embedding Connect One's iChip(TM) inside Bartizan Data Corporation's and Force Field, Ltd.'s data collection terminals not only enhanced product functionality with Internet connectivity, but also inspired both companies to take their applications into completely new markets.

Force Field, Ltd., based in Falcarragh, County Donegal, Ireland, is a manufacturer of low-cost data logging and control devices that capture, transmit, and remotely control the temperature of agri-business environments, such as greenhouses, chicken coops and hothouses. Connect One's iChip-based iModem(TM) provided Force Field with the means to offer their customers immediate Internet connectivity.

Internet Connectivity on a Chip:

Connect One's iChip Internet controller is a co-processor that mediates the connection between the Internet and a host device processor, enabling it to send and receive e-mail or Web pages. iChip includes up to 512 KB of on-board flash memory for storing and updating the Internet protocols. iModem is a family of compact embedded and stand-alone modems that supports data transfer rates from 2,400 baud through 56kbits per second and operates in both analog and Internet modes.
