 (BIO) announced today its selection of Representative Chris Van Hollen Christopher "Chris" Van Hollen, Jr. (born January 10 1959) is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Maryland's At-large congressional district since 2003.  Jr. (D-MD) as Legislator of the Year for 2006-2007.

More than 200 biotechnology industry representatives from 36 states, including Maryland, will participate in more than 275 meetings with key Members of the House and Senate tomorrow as part of the BIO Legislative Day event. Participants will discuss issues critical to the biotechnology industry, including the reauthorization of the Prescription Drug user Fee Act The Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) was a law passed by the United States Congress in 1992 which allowed the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to collect fees from drug manufacturers to fund the new drug approval process. , the Small Business Innovation Research grant program, patent protection, the 2007 Farm Bill and funding for biofuels.
