Congressman Jackson and Pace Join Forces to Improve Public Transportation to the South Suburbs; Press Conference Thursday August 10 explains technology to shorten the bus ride.

Thanks to the efforts of Congressman Jackson, federal dollars could be made available to fund a Transit Signal Priority (TSP TSP - travelling salesman problem ) system that saves bus riders 3 to 5 minutes on a half hour trip.

Pace is one of the largest transit agencies in the country, offering a family of services within six counties of Northeastern Illinois including the City of Chicago. It carried nearly 37 million passengers in 2005 and more than 3 million in June 2006.
