Congratulations to the 2007 Civic Star Award Winners.


The American Association of School Administrators The American Association of School Administrators (AASA), founded in 1865, is the professional organization for more than 13,000 educational leaders across the United States.  and Sodexho School Services are pleased to honor the 2007 National Civic Star Award winners by highlighting their programs in this supplement to The School AdministratoJ: The award was created to recognize school districts that have teamed with local communities to develop and implement innovative activities that advance student learning.

For 2007, we celebrate the efforts of 27 school-community initiatives that deliver meaningful benefits to both students and adults. A profile of the winning entries, including contact information, is contained in this publication to facilitate program sharing and replication.

AASA Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia
AASA Aging and Adult Services Administration
AASA Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army
 National Conference on EducationTM in New Orleans in March. The 2007 National Civic Star Award winner, Fort Worth Independent School District Fort Worth Independent School District is a school district based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It is currently the fifth largest school district in Texas (but may fall to sixth within the next 1-2 years).

FWISD serves most of the city of Fort Worth.
 in Fort Worth, Texas Fort Worth is the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas, 18th-largest city in the United States[1], and voted one of "America’s Most Livable Communities. , received $10,000 in cash and scholarships from Sodexho School Services.

We wish to thank the AASA State Association executive directors, whose support and involvement was critical to the early success of this award. We also thank the panel of judges Panel of Judges is an indie pop band from Melbourne, Australia. Members
