Congratulations to the 2006 Civic Star Award winners.


The American Association of School Administrators The American Association of School Administrators (AASA), founded in 1865, is the professional organization for more than 13,000 educational leaders across the United States.  and Sodexho School Services http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Schools_Collection_May_2007_2.JPGSchool Services are a business unit of the National Library of New Zealand (Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa). They provide curriculum and advisory services to support New Zealand schools.  are pleased to honor the 2006 National Civic Star Award winners by highlighting their programs in this supplement to The School Administrator. The award was created to recognize school districts that have teamed with local communities to develop and implement innovative activities that advance student learning.

For 2006, we celebrate the efforts of 34 school-community initiatives that deliver meaningful benefits to both students and adults. A profile of the winning entries, including contact information, is contained in this publication to facilitate program sharing and replication.

AASA Association of Academies of Sciences in Asia
AASA Aging and Adult Services Administration
AASA Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army
 National Conference on Education[TM] in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay.  in February. The 2006 National Civic Star Award winner, St. Charles Parish Schools in Luling, La., received $10,000 in cash and scholarships from Sodexho School Services.

We wish to thank the AASA State Association executive directors, whose support and involvement was critical to the early success of this award. We also thank the panel of judges Panel of Judges is an indie pop band from Melbourne, Australia. Members
