Congratulations to MCA. (Membership News).The American Correctional Association The American Correctional Association is an association of providers of services to prisons in the United States. It holds an annual trade show where products used in prisons are shown to prospective purchasers. It was formerly known as the American Prison Association. (ACA ACA - Application Control Architecture ) proudly presents the annual Blanche L. La Du Award to the Michigan Corrections Association (MCA MCA in full Music Corporation of America Entertainment conglomerate. It was founded in Chicago in 1924 by Jules Stein as a talent agency. In the 1960s it bought Decca Records and Universal Pictures, and today it produces films, music, and television shows. ) for an outstanding job increasing its percentage of membership growth by 12 percent, between July 1, 2001, and June 30, 2002. This achievement award is named after Blanche L. La Du, ACA's first female president, who made several valuable contributions to ACA during her lifetime. The award has come to personify per·son·i·fy tr.v. per·son·i·fied, per·son·i·fy·ing, per·son·i·fies 1. To think of or represent (an inanimate object or abstraction) as having personality or the qualities, thoughts, or movements of a living being: leadership and dedication. La Du was a pioneer among her peers and the corrections profession. It was a close race as chapters worked hard to recruit new members. Many creative and imaginative membership campaigns were developed. ACA looks forward to presenting the La Du award during the 132nd Congress of Correction's Opening Session ceremonies, Sunday, Aug. 4. MCA is to be commended for a job well done. |
