The couple married at St Lawrence's Church, Bell Green.

Len worked for the Prudential Assurance Company until his retirement.

Joan worked for the Co-op in the "Divi" office, and before her retirement worked for a local hairdresser.

Both Len and Joan have been members of the Corely Bowling Club for more than 15 years.

They have one daughter, Gill, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

They have plans to celebrate their anniversary with a family meal and a holiday in Scotland.

BARBARA AND TED EATON, of Armscote Road, Wyken, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on July 16.

The couple met when they were living in the same street, and began seeing each other when they were 18 years old.

Ted served his apprenticeship at the BTH as a toolmaker, then joined the Royal Navy as an engine room artificer.

 until he took early retirement due to ill health. Ted is also a freeman of the city.

 until her retirement.

Barbara and Ted have four sons, Alan, Terry, Stephen and David, 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, who all joined them for a reception at Ansty Hall to celebrate.

Instead of presents, the couple asked for donations to the new Coventry Hospice.

ANGELA AND JOE TIERNEY of Wyken, Coventry, are celebrating the birth of their second daughter Lauren Rhiannon Tierney who was born on March 15, 2005, at Walsgrave Hospital.

Angela, a housewife and Joe, who works for H Burbidge, also have a daughter Bethany Caitlin who is two years old.

Lauren was born five weeks early at 5Ib 5oz, and she is a very happy little baby who giggles away and gives beautiful smiles.

BETTY POPE, of Rowan Close, Potters Green celebrated her 80th birthday on July 6.

Betty held a buffet and barn dance at St Phillips Church Hall to celebrate the occasion. More than 70 members of her family were invited to the party, and Betty requested that her guests give donations to the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance air ambulance Emergency medicine A helicopter or, less commonly, a fixed wing aircraft, used to evacuate a person who requires immediate medical attention that cannot be provided at his/her current location  in lieu of presents.

From this request pounds 510 was raised for the cause.
