Confusing scenes stub out storyline; NO SMOKING (15) VERDICT: * Bollywood vue cinemas.Byline: By Manish Gajjar Director: Anurag Kashyap Starring: John Abraham, Ayesha Takia, Paresh Rawal The plot: Compulsive smoker, K (Abraham) accidentally falls asleep in his bathtub only to find himself in a haunting dream which sees him held captive by Russian soldiers. Gagging for a smoke, the soldiers stop at nothing to prevent him from smoking but, thankfully, it's only a dream! A fully-fledged addicted smoker, K turns a deaf ear to his wife's constant nagging until she threatens him into visiting Baba, who runs a rehabilitation centre for all sorts of addictions and afflictions. Forced to enter into an agreement, a proud and desperate K challenges Baba's beliefs. This leads to one-upmanship between the self-assumed, all-knowing Baba and the frantic, unsuspecting K in this dreamy thriller. The verdict: Director Kashyap defies all Bollywood norms by attempting an idea in the film noir genre which will appear to be weird and hard to digest by the average cinemagoer cin·e·ma·go·er n.
