Co-authored by Gayle Wiebe Oudeh and Nabil Oudeh (both of whom are senior consultants for the Centre for Conflict Resolution, an Ottawa-based consulting firm specializing in conflict management and training), Conflict Is For The Birds!: Understanding Your Conflict Management Style is an informed introduction and instructional reference for analyzing workplace conflicts and dealing productively and cautiously through the process of conflict resolution. Mapping out an easy-to-follow guide through conflict management, Conflict Is For The Birds! offers readers a complete and thorough approach for dealing with all manner of conflict scenarios utilizing a helpful and distinctive images of the woodpecker woodpecker, common name for members of the Picidae, a large family of climbing birds found in most parts of the world. Woodpeckers typically have sharp, chisellike bills for pecking holes in tree trunks, and long, barbed, extensible tongues with which they impale their insect prey. Their spiny tail feathers act as a prop in climbing, resting, and drilling., the parakeet parakeet or parrakeet, common name for a widespread group of small parrots, native to the Indo-Malayan region and popular as cage birds. Parakeets have long, pointed tails, unlike the chunky lovebirds with which they are sometimes confused. The budgerigar, also called the shell, zebra, or grass, parakeet (Melopsittacus undulatus), is the best known of the true parakeets., the ostrich ostrich, common name for a large flightless bird (Struthio camelus) of Africa and parts of SW Asia, allied to the rhea, the emu and the extinct moa. It is the largest of living birds; some males reach a height of 8 ft (244 cm) and weigh from 200 to 300 lb (90–135 kg). The ostrich runs at great speed with wings outspread. The inner of the two toes on each foot is much the larger and bears most of the bird's weight., the owl, and the hummingbird, along with their various strengths and tactics based upon their individual mentalities. Exceptionally "reader friendly", Conflict Is For The Birds! is very strongly recommended for all managers and supervisors, as well as anyone else, in need of a comprehensive and accessible guide through troubling encounters, disputes, or differences.
