ConfirmNet Expands Technology Staff; Company Hires Michele Leroux Bustamante, Jose Cepeda, and Joe Castro to Lead Expanding Technology Team.

ConfirmNet(TM) Corp., a leading e-service business-to-business application service provider (ASP) for the $2.8 trillion global insurance industry, announced today the hiring of three new senior technology staff members.

Michele Leroux Bustamante is the new managing director of engineering and application development, Jose Cepeda is the managing director of product development, and Joe Castro has been named director of systems architecture.

Michele Leroux Bustamante is responsible for designing product architecture from marketing requirements and leading the engineering team's efforts to design, build and implement product services. Bustamante has eight years of experience in Windows development. Most recently she was the software development manager and technical lead with WebSideStory Inc. She also founded the Visual Basic Certificate program at the University of California, San Diego, where she currently serves as program advisor and instructor for Visual Basic and Visual C++ Certificate Programs.

Bustamante has been widely published in such publications as Visual Basic Developer and Visual C++ Developers Journal and also authored the book Instant Visual Basic Animation. She periodically speaks at such software development conferences as Visual C++ Developer's Conference and C++ Connections. Bustamante earned her undergraduate degree in business administration from Ryerson Polytechnic University in Toronto where she completed a double major in accounting/finance and computer programming.

Jose Cepeda, managing director of product development, is responsible for organizing product requirements and providing marketing support, as well as scheduling and managing product. He leads the product management, quality assurance and network engineering teams.

Most recently, Cepeda served as director of network operations at WebSideStory Inc., where he managed the company's network operations center, consisting of more than 170 servers running various versions of Unix. Prior to WebSideStory, Cepeda was the director of product development at Expert Software Inc., where he served as executive producer for the Bicycle Card Games series and the McDonaldland Series for Kids, a six-product project which was developed and shipped in 12 months.

Joe Castro, director of systems architecture, is responsible for network operations and Internet technologies, and directs the network engineering team's effort to design, build and implement ConfirmNet's technology environments.

Most recently, Castro spent eight years with Golden Eagle Insurance where he evaluated, assessed and selected all computer related technologies. While there he oversaw a $2 million infrastructure upgrade which included consolidation of file servers, replacement of networking infrastructure equipment, implementation of Microsoft NT and Novell Netware operating systems, and managed Internet/Web technologies. He graduated Cum Laude from National University in San Diego with a bachelor's degree in information systems.
